Various cool features exist about this number; geeks like the fact that it's 2^16+1, making it 10001 in hexadecimal. The cool thing, though, is that it's also prime, making it the largest known Fermat Prime (i.e., prime Fermat number). Since a regular polygon with a prime number of sides can be constructed (with a ruler and compass) if and only if the number of sides is a Fermat prime, it's actually possible to make a 65537-gon... if you have a lot of time on your hands.
