The previous quote pretty much sums up the main character's mental outlook in the great movie Pi. The film is about number theory and spirituality - I don't want to say any more and ruin it for any one.
One last point though, if you like(d) the film then read Borderliners by Peter Hoeg it deals with many of the same subjects, but is particularly focused on time. Both of these stories ask the same question in my opinion: If math is the language of God, is it healthy (for humans) to want to master it?
