/opt

In Linux (and whatever else; don't fuck with me!), this directory is mainly used for add-on software. Binaries, libraries, and Man Pages for each installed package should be stored in their own appropriate subdirectory. Configuration files should go in /etc/opt.

(Alternate opinions say this directory is useless, and instead use /usr/local)
