Choronzon (idea)

Choronzon, the Demon of the Abyss, the Stooping Dragon with Eight Heads which struck at the Crown of the Tree of Life and failed to attain it, become lost within the confusion of falsehood which is "knowledge," called in Hebrew "Da'ath." Choronzon is without substance and is "legion," being an infinite concatenation of various disconnected impressions vifified into the delusion of sentience and self-existence by the various scraps of ego which may follow a magician into the Abyss. The Demon Choronzon will devour (presumably by subsuming "them" into itselfs) anyone without the proper momentum to cross the Abyss, or who is unable to keep Silence, which is the one condition which the Demon, in its mad confusion, cannot abide.

Abyss (place)

The "Abyss" is one of the titles of the dread "False Sephira" on the Tree of Life, called "Da'ath," meaning Knowledge.
The color of the Abyss is purple, perhaps even ultraviolet.There is no name of God proper to the Abyss, although there is a name for the illusion of the Demon that dwells therein, Choronzon.
Some also associate the god Set with the Abyss, and call that place the Desert of Set. It is said that the Tempest which blows eternally through the infinite Abyss is howled by Typhon, of whom Set is the symbol.
Also associated with the Abyss is Shugal, the Desert Fox. Shugal, by Gematria, equals 333, which is the number of Choronzon. Thus, the Abyss is sometimes called the Shugal-Choronzon Pylon.
It should therefore be noted that Shugal=333 when added to Choronzon=333 give you 666, the number of the Beast and also the number of Sorath,the Demon of the Solar Sphere which is directly below Da'ath. Also of interest is that 666=Shem Yeshua, the Name Jesus.

Ain: Hebrew: Not, or Nothing. This is the final of the three negative veils beyond the Primal Unity described on the Qabalistic Tree of Life as Keter, the Crown. Thus it is the most sublime dimensional state descriptable in linguistic terms. All comes from naught and goes to naught. Not negating itself becomes Not-Not, (Not Nothing), or Ain Soph, "No Limit." Thus the second veil is a double negative, two zeros adjoined, an infinity. Contradict this, and there is Not-Not-Not,(Not Not-Nothing), called Ain Soph Aur, "Light Without Limit." Such is the only way to describe the source behind Unity, as Unity is both essentially limited and unlimited.
Thus the Qabalists described everything as, ultimately, nothing.

There is also some speculation that the three negative veils are themselves a primal mirror of the three supernal spheres on the Tree, or perhaps, the other way round...

The Qabalistic "World of the Shells," the backside of the Tree of Life, also said to be reflected beneath it. Trying to render three-dimensional esoteric geometry on flat scrolls is such a pain in the ass, isn't it?

According to Qabalistic doctrine, the Qlippoth were created when the intensity of the divine essence shattered the first creation. All that remains are its pieces. The Qlippoth are also described as excrement, or as accretions around the ten bright sephiroth. Funny how the oldest thing is considered the waste of the new. There is probably an arcanum there, or a load of shit. (Remember, contradiction is unity but only above the Abyssof Knowledge (Da'ath). The Qlippoth are generally viewed as dark and primal, sometimes said to form a Tree of Death (Or maybe the Tree of Knowledge!). Odd then, that their attributes are represented as perversions and corruptions of the standard ten.

"Da'ath," the Hebrew word for "knowledge" and the dreadful "False Sephira" upon the Qabalistic Tree of Life, poised as the apparently endless gulf separating the ideal reality of the Supernal Triad from the manifested lower Sephiroth ruled by the Fourth. The number of Da'ath is eleven because it is the "one beyond the ten." Much has been written about this dimension, often referred to as the Abyss, particularly the Abyss of Reason. "The Abyss of Hallucinations hath Law and Reason, but in Truth there is no bond between the toys of the Gods," wrote Frater Perdurabo in his blasphemous "Book of Lies." Another favorite comment of mine on the matter of the existence of the "False Sephira" comes from the rather famous Benjamin Rowe, a modern Enochian magician.
