I checked my Inbox to find a handful of messages from gods (they still called that?) politely notifying me that some of my old Editor Log entries had been moved to nodes that consolidated all of the writeups for that month.

I took the opportunity to read a couple from 2000 and 2001. I was a little shocked at the young Quizro's boldness and impatience. Back then I was willing to announce publicly that individual contributors to E2 were being stupid and writing shit. I remember that I was actually pretty tolerant as an Editor, but when something pushed my buttons I guess it really pushed my buttons.

Maybe it's because I was young. Maybe it's because I took my bad days out on the nodegel. Maybe it's because I was passionate about this site and hated to see people inflict crap on it. Maybe it's because I was a new Christian and in love with my newfound faith and had to set everyone straight about it.

Now I'm 41, and the road…

I called in to CNET's Buzz Out Loud podcast this morning, airing my tongue-in-cheek grievance against Google for ripping off Everything2 for its user-created encyclopedia full of entries called "knols".

Here's the mind-blowing part: they didn't just play my call, they went on to discuss Everything2 at length. Co-host Tom Merritt said that he was a noder back in the day (which one, I wonder?). They talked about the differences and similarities between the Google Knols project and E2; how some great ideas catch on and become insanely popular while others remain relatively obscure; and how E2 is really pretty cool and full of awesome people.

Heh. Neat.

Water. It had to be water.

The Lord God could have said, âMoses: Lift up your staff and I will dig a tunnel to the Promised Land.â I have no problem with tunnels. A spelunking expedition out of Egypt? Iâm in.

But no. He says to me, âMoses: Lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the Israelites might go into the sea on dry ground.â

Look, I can handle small, manageable, amounts of water. Drinking amounts. Bathing amounts.

But several metric tons of water on either side of me, held back by wind? Not so much.

When I was a baby, my mother put me in a basket and shoved it out onto a river. That may be the source of my anxiety about drowning. Iâm no therapist. Iâm just saying here.

Excalibre says re Orthodoxy and heresy: A parable involving pigs : Please do tell, though, exactly what significance things like the monophysite heresy have...is Jesus gonna deny entrance into Heaven if you don't have exactly the right comprehension of how his divinity and humanity interact? i don't mean to be sarcastic, just a bit cheeky - a recent writeup I did entailed learning some about the heresies argued about in the early church, and the things that resulted in schism between Christian groups don't seem to be meaningless issues as much as semantic fighting. and given that we can't (for example) understand the nature of the Trinity perfectly, excommunicating one another over matters like whether the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father or from the Father and the Son is kinda incomprehensible to me.

I have to imagine that - assuming that Christianity is correct, of course, believers

Filmation children's television series which ran on Saturday mornings from 1975-1977 on CBS. Tiki God was obviously created to ride the coattails of other successful shows in the superhero genre such as Shazam!, but its offbeat nature (seen particularly in the "hollow earth" story arc that composed the last half of its second season) made it unique.
