I am sure that many people lie to their parents or have done so in the past. For most teens, it is a way of survival. Throughout my teenage years I lied through my teeth to my parents. By now I almost have it down to an art.

Most teens lie to their parents because they are afraid of what might happen if they told the truth. For example a parent may ask, "Johnny, are you smoking marijuana?" Any teenager who thinks that it is okay to answer "yes" to this question is out of their mind. Unless your parents are hippies it is advisable to not answer yes.

Here are 5 simple steps to follow to make lying to your parents work for you:

1. Have an alibi - This is very important when lying. You should always have someone able to back you up. It should probably be a good friend and not a sibling, since siblings can sometimes give in under pressure from parents, use blackmail or simply want to get back at you for ratting them out.…

In some cases there are times when one needs to induce vomiting. For example, after a night of partying one may need to vomit so as not to be subject to alcohol poisoning or a very bad hangover. Here are four sure-fire ways to make yourself vomit when in need:

1. The finger-down-the-throat method - Take your index finger and shove it in toward the back of your mouth as far as possible. Once you have hit your gag reflex you should begin to vomit.

2. The baking soda method - Grab a box of Arm&Hammer and a teaspoon. Ingesting a teaspoon of baking soda is downright nasty (but not harmful), so it'll come back up - along with the contents of your stomach.

3. Drinking saline solution - Mix two tablespoons of table salt with a glass of lukewarm water and chug.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Definition/History It is the most fatal of all the muscular dystrophies; pseudohypertonic muscular dystrophy, widely known as Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Affecting only boys, Duchenne is a result of the absence of the protein dystrophin in muscle fibres. This absence causes muscles to weaken and wither away.

In the 1850s and 1860s, a French doctor by the name of Guillaume-Benjamin-Amant Duchenne observed patients with the signs and symptoms of muscular dystrophy. However, Duchenne did not believe that the problem was within the muscles themselves, but of a nervous system disorder because of the mental retardation of some of his patients. (Muscular dystrophy was not know known to be a muscular disease until a German doctor named Ernst Leyden noticed that the symptoms were much different than those of obvious nervous system problems.)

Contrary to popular belief, Canada is not a country with "lumber jacks and curlers." Nor does Canada equal hockey and beer. What Canada is though, is a multicultural haven, a country where freedom of speech is honoured, health care is not the HMO, and it is a place where the simplest pleasures can be found in our picturesque landscapes.

Canada embraces every race, colour, and religion. This acceptance is evident from British Columbia to Newfoundland. It is almost impossible to walk down any main street in Canada and pass a store or restaurant that is purely Canadian. (Technically, nothing is purely Canadian unless it is of native nature.) Turn on the radio and there are stations that cater to a variety of languages.
