Mr. Head's semi departure from Buffy this year is a prep job for

1.) The character seperation neccessary for Buffy and the Scoobys to become real adults, with no adult supervision (because, err..they're not kids anymore....but that means I'm not either, which is scary...anyway..).
and
2.) The fact that Anthony Stewart Head is going to get his own show on ye olde BBC, still in the character of Giles. The show hasn't gotten kickstarted just yet, according to the BBC's site, but you can find out some info here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/buffy/news/01061902.shtml

Apparently, Joss's ambition is to do an "adult" show, a Scooby gang for adults. There are already plans to premiere it on BBC-America at the same time as in the UK, so us Yank fans of Mr. Head will get their fix too.

Basic Info is Available through the appropriate websites:
Shadowrun - http://www.srrpg.com/
WhizKids LLC - http://www.wizkidsgames.com/
FanPro (In German) - http://www.fanpro.com/

Tragically, the gaming company that published Shadowrun, FASA, folded in 1999. The Shadowrun property, which for a while was a homeless orphan, finally settled into the kind hands of Whizkids LLC, the folks who make the Mage Knight game. They, in turn, licensed Shadowrun to the game company FanPro, the German gaming company which produced the Germany, France, and Hungary Sourcebooks.

They released a new SR book at GenCon 2001, Year of the Comet. Their next new SR product, Target: Awakened Lands, shipped in October of 2001. So far, only two more products have been spec'd out, but more are on the way. Threats 2 is expected in December of 01, and Shadows of North America is expected in early 02.

Also the title of a book by the mac lover and journalist Stephen Levy.

The book, whose subtitle is The Life and Times of Macintosh, the Computer That Changed Everything details the history of the Mac, from its inauspicious beginnings as an offshoot of the Lisa through to a new after-afterword wherin Steve Jobs reveals to the author the iMac. The book's laidback narration style, much like the culture surrounding the computer it documents, is easy to read. Narration is interspersed with liberal quotes from such luminaries involved with the projects, such as Bill Atkinson, Susan Kare, and Jef Raskin. An easy read, and enjoyable as well, as the author takes you on a detailed but not overwhelming tour of the Mac's backstory.

The only complaints I had with the book were Levy's tendency to downplay the truly momentously stupid mistakes that Apple's management made, and a somewhat scattered feel to the way in which he presents events. This last critique is understandable in a way,…

Twinkie is a term used in gaming circles to refer to someone who tweaks their character to the max using stupid exploits of the rules.

"Oh look! Thanks to alternate character generation method #89, I have an Intelligence of 30, making me invulnerable to all spells except those cast by Deities or Gary Gygax!"

The tendency to "twink" their characters to the outrageous is what earns them the derogatory nickname of Twinkie.

This webcomic, located at
http://www.nuklearpower.com/comic/
is hilarious.....if you've ever played a Final Fantasy game, or if you roleplay.

It follows the (mis)adventures of the characters of the original Final Fantasy game. Characters which, up until now, haven't had any really good character studies done of them.

Characters:

Fighter - He likes swords! A Lot! And err...he's Strong! Yeah. Every bad stereotype you've ever encountered of a rpg fighter dwells within his chest of plate mail. (Two words, okay? Sword Chucks)

Black Mage - He's evil, smells like garlic, frequents strip clubs, beats up old men, and vaporizes small children at the earliest opportunity. What else did you expect? The guy who consorts with the forces of darkness to like kitties and play well with children?

Thief - This is one crafty guy. You know that sneaky hafling you had in the party that one time? Thief could sneak up on him and pants the guy, snag his coin

…
