As promised/threatened at various times, Everything2 Ajax is now turned on by default for all users. Translated into English this means that you can do all sorts of things like voting on, bookmarking and cooling writeups, sending messages, chatting, etc. without reloading the entire page, while chatterlight and the Notifications nodelet update automatically.

The only users missing out on this advance are those who had switched off quick voting in their User Settings. If this is you, then you may wish to turn 'quick functions' back on. If you are worried about voting by accident, there is a new option to ask for confirmation of your vote before sending it. If you don't like the appearance of the quick vote buttons, you can opt to have the good old-fashioned radio-buttons with good new-fashioned quick vote functionality.

As a bonus, and at no extra cost, you can also by default hide the content of nodelets by clicking on their titles. This feature can also be turned off if you don't like it.
