Updated Level Changes
After making the original changes to the level requirements, and measuring the effects against the desired effects, it has been determined that more level requirement reductions were in order. Specifically the changes are as follows:
- To reach level 3, an author now only needs 40 writeups, rather than 50. This affects roughly 200 active users.
- To reach level 4, an author needs 100 writeups, rather than 120. This affects roughly 80 active users.
- To reach level 10, a noder needs 21000 XP, rather than 25000 XP. This affects less than 20 active users.
- Level 13 has been discarded entirely. This affects 2 users, one of whom is, in fact, a dictionary.
All of these changes are themselves subject to change. However, this will most likely be the last change for users below level 6 in the foreseeable future. We may begin condensing some of the upper levels into single levels - it's not quite clear what the ultimate level system shoud look like, but it will be closer to 8-10 levels, rather than the current 12.
