If the meat comes out intact, whole, the answer is 'yes' and the wish shall come true. if it breaks, it will not come to pass.
the other, more modern variation is fun, good for parties but has no real truth to it. Take walnuts, remove meat. You can either write 'yes' and 'no', write varied answers a la magic 8-ball, or write "fortunes" fortune cookie style. Place a slip of paper between two halves of the shells of the walnuts and glue together. Have your friends select a nut from the bowl and open it to reveal their "future" |
