Also known as the vitreous or the vitreous body, the vitreous humor is the viscous fluid (a clear jelly-like substance) filling the compartment between the lens and the retina, making up most of the volume of the eyeball.
The vitreous keeps the retina in position and maintains the spherical shape of the eye.
The aqueous humour, on the other hand, occupies the space between the lens and the cornea.
