A male bimbo which a successful woman (usually) marries purely for his wealth or position. She can then enjoy the fruits of his labors, ill gotten wealth, or both. Depending on personal inclination she can use this as a springboard for her own career (Hillary Clinton) or buy very expensive clothes (Marlen Cowpland). The trophy husband may also be wheeled out at a dinner party or other social occasion, but usally he's a boor and is better done without.

Can be cast aside once he's outlived his usefulness (William Jefferson Clinton).
