the opposite of the the easy way. Part of the phrase, you can do it the easy way or the hard way. Related to the highway in the phrase my way or the highway. Usually the hard way takes you through a path that runs between a rock and a hard place. The hard way holds no scenic sights and is generally not good for camping. But, you tend to get more XP that way.

Craps term to describe the combination of two matching die to make a point. 4, 6, 8, and 10 are the only points that can be made the hard way, as 2 and 12 are craps.

The house edge is very high (16% or so) on these bets, so unless you're trying to donate extra money to the casino, stay away from them.
