Which end to start on? I like to start on the stem first. You can get it to be rather sharp so be careful. I find the curved bit to make a very convienient handle. Eventually I bite the stem off and end up with a U shaped piece that can be used to make a striped smile. The all green candycanes are the best because they taste like spearmint.
