If someone who owns a
consulting company hears about another company which charges lower rates, he/she says, "Oh, that's a
sweat shop." What he/she means is...
1) I'm playing
fair here! I have a
fancy office, high
overhead,
expensive letterhead, not to mention
rich tastes and a
fragile ego!
2) These
awful,
sweat shop people are too
efficient, too
concerned about providing more
value for their
clients and too
focused on
results!!
3) These people
mess things up for the
industry by providing the same
service for less! I
wish someone should teach them something about
business.
But it's
fun when they see those
rascally
sweat shop people at business gatherings,
lectures,
etc. Talking to their
clients and
prospects,
drinking the same
coffee or
free beer. Then
I have to
laugh and
think to
myself, "Who's
sweating now?"
