2. The name of a Nashville, TN hardcore band from the mid-1990's. Part of the same burgeoning Nashville hardcore scene of the early to mid 1990's that spawned such acts as Martian Tourist Trap, Fun Girls from Mt. Pilot, and Spider Virus, Salida was a band with an extremely hard sound. Known for their energetic shows, Salida also developed a reputation for their ability to get a crowd on its feet, usually by telling it not to sit down any more. I saw this band in 1995 at the benefit show for Hillsboro High School's hypothetical radio station. Said station remained hypothetical, as the show failed to raise enough money to actually build it. Salida broke up at some point in 1996.
