Slang term for a body snatcher, that is, one who exhumes recently-deceased corpses and sells them entire or in parts to medical students for dissection. The term seems to date back to the 1700s. Such a person was also called a resurrectionist, which in my opinion would make a really awesome nick.

Resurrection Man is also a modern fantasy novel by Sean Stewart. It's one of several books set in an alternate Earth where magic slowly began seeping back into the world after World War Two and is now a part of everyday life. The opening chapters depict the main character performing an autopsy on his own dead body.
