The usage of the pronoun "we" among royalty in some cultures, to signify that the king, queen, emperor or empress represent the whole of the people, not only themselves.

Not to be confused with pluralis majestaticus - this plural form is used for majestic entities rather than majesty, the Trinity being a common example.

Further confusion is induced by yet another linguistic weirdness - the editorial "we".
