these partial seizures almost always begin with visual hallucinations as the result of abnormal electrical activity within the occipital lobe. other eye-related symptoms are common, such as rapid blinking or involuntary eye movement. other than prevalence of eye-related effects, this disorder strongly resembles temporal lobe epilepsy.

Symptoms

hallucinations or illusions
disturbances or complete loss of vision.
strong sense of deja vu.
muscle contractions usually only affecting part of the body (rare).
forced turning of the head and/or eyes (usually towards opposite side of the affected portion of the brain).
numbness, tingling or an 'asleep' feeling (usually only in one area of the body).
loss of memory (amnesia) of the seizure and events leading up to it.
