Along with tardive dyskinesia and neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a possible side effect of treatment with neuroleptic drugs.

Characterised as suppression of complex behavior, with symptoms such as reduced initiative, interest in environment, and displays of emotion. Patients are still easily aroused and can answer questions, and have intact intellectual function. Ataxia (loss of fine muscle coordination) and dysarthria (slurred speech) do not occur.

In other words, after the doctor stops their medication, patients remain in the mental straitjacket, but are still able to talk and tie their shoes. Perfect.
