The manrikisa is a
Japanese
weapon
made of a
chain
with weighted ends. More effective at
entangling
an opponent than killing, but can still be used to strike or strangle with. A manrikisa can be wielded alone, but is often wielded with another weapon in the off-hand.
"A light weapon consisting of a chain made of hardened steel links, with metal weights at both ends. The user strikes unexpectedly with either his right or left hand, or from concealment in a clenched fist. A flexible weapon equally adapted to offense and defense." -
