Either the time from something is created/someone is born, until it is destroyed/he/she dies, or the (estimated) time left from now until it is destroyed/he/she dies. A product may have a "lifetime warranty", meaning that the producer gives warranties abpout its behaviour under some predicted lifetime, and pays for any eventual problems with the product under that time.
