A Latin phrase meaning something like "A man who can do everything".

This was the ideal of many people during the Renaissance period, when man and his abilities were viewed to be more important than God.

A well known "homo universalis" is Leonardo da Vinci. A poet, writer, painter, scientist, engineer, etc.
