| Groaty dick is a traditional English dish served for the evening meal (often known in Britain as "tea").
The dryish stew consists of cubed beef, onions, chopped leeks, and oat groats, readily available from your local pet store if the grocers doesn't stock them. Salt and pepper to season.
Cooked together in stock in an earthenware pot in a low temperature oven over at least 16 hours, the oats expand to several times their size and absorb the meat juices and the stock. The dick is then served.
