| Your parents' parents. To some, this is all that the word grandparent means. To most, though, it means a great deal more.
To me, grandparents are wonderful gifts that some of us are lucky enough to have. They are links to the past, troves of knowledge and wisdom, people who spoil you relentlessly, people who make you soup when you have a stuffed-up nose. They are people who teach you to play chess, take you fishing, tell you stories that you can use against your parents in an argument, people who wonder and marvel at you. People who love you very much.
I'm very glad I am among those lucky people. |
