Basically, you get to see two movies for the price of one (or maybe slightly higher, but at least it's cheaper than paying to see both of them). This phenomenon first appeared at movie theatres (see 'Science Fiction Double Feature') but sometimes VHS tapes and DVDs are distributed in this fashion as well.
