crumble slow descent lost, and jello

i watched faces and smiles and heard laughs
i walked with you and through a sullen glance
i saw an end to it all and then

                 i touched the thick, thinning air

i felt it with fingertip touch so lightly the
entire world missed it but for a few who
had always been staring, waiting for me to
realize how close feeling is, how it seeps
from dark eyed dreary.. 

life, it seems more potent now with your
presence floating and then.. removed, but
i see invisible traces and smell you, lost

intent stare that fell only briefly
  longing
    eyes only for.. they're yours

sit..
     stare..
               ..single wilting rose
