[Cambridge] Someone who wastes computer time on number-crunching when you'd far rather the machine were doing something more productive, such as working out anagrams of your name or printing Snoopy calendars or running life patterns. May or may not refer to someone who actually studies chemistry.

  Nobel laureate and presenter of the video series 'The World of Chemistry'.
• Iréne Joliot-Curie
  Daughter of Pierre and Marie Curie, Iréne continued her parents' research into radioactivity along with her husband Frédéric.
• Martin Heinrich Klaproth
  Devourer of writeups, Klaproth was also a successful scientist before acheiving immortality on E2.
• Walter Kohn
  Joint winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, with John Pople (see below).
• Irving Langmuir
  Explained the valence state of electrons and ionic bonding, invented the gas-filled incandescent lamp. Won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1932.

  Sometimes known as the father of modern chemistry, Mendeleev devised the first table of elements to be based on the periodic occurance of certain chemical properties.

  Joint winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1993, for his discovery of the polymerase chain reaction.
• Linus Pauling
  Two-time Nobel prize winner and inventor of the perm, Pauling's most fundamental contributions to Chemistry were in the field of atomic and molecular bonding.
