| Irish dancing which involves groups of people dancing together in a set pattern of steps. Some ceili dances involve a finite number of dancers (4, 6, 8, 12 or 16) and some dances are line dances involving any number of partners in a repeating pattern of steps. At a party, such dances are known as ceili dances. At an Irish dance competition feis, they are known as set dances and done by the book; pronounced 'kay lee' |
