From the geek game Nethack. When a character is killed the map that he was currently on is sometimes saved. Then, occasionally, when you play again you will enter a bones level.
In a bones level you can find all of the previous player's items. Most likely they will be cursed though. You can also find the ghost of the player wandering around and the player's grave. The guidebook also mentions that whatever killed that player is most likely wandering around as well.
This is one of the things that makes Nethack so froody. |
