When I was litttle, I would hear my
heartbeat at night, thumping in my ears
I thought it was God's voice.
Soon, I discovered the circulatory system,
and it ocurred to me that it wasn't
really God, but just blood
pumping in my eardrums.
Now, I realize that I was probably closer to
right in the first place.
Is this wisdom--the realization that
our silly childhood assumptions
were really far more right than we
could ever have known? |
