bendy straw
is a normal drinking
straw
with a
flexible
section approximately two inches from the top. This section is generally made of small folds in the plastic allowing the top two inches to swivel freely in
three-dimensional space
, independent of the remaining portion of the straw stuck in the liquid.
Aside from providing unlimited angles of approach for your mouth, bendy straws can be used to occupy busy hands and discussed when conversation is lacking.
It should be noted that most bendy straws come packaged with the flexible section compressed into very tight folds. Once these folds are expanded, they are nearly impossible to recompress. To avoid regret, it is advised to play with the straw for at least a minute before uncompressing the flexible section.
