Wild Cherry formed in 1974 in Steubenville, Ohio. Consisted of Rob Parissi on guitar, Mark Ausec on keyboards, Bryan Bassett on guitar, Ronald Beitle on drums, and Allen Wentz on bass. Most famous for their hit Play That Funky Music, which was used for a series of Intel commericals in the '90s.

Released 5 albums on Epic Records:
1976 Wild Cherry
1977 Electrified Funk
1978 I Love My Music
1979 Only the Wild Survive
1979 Don't Wait Too Long

Wild Cherry disbanded in 1981.
