Simply put, the
RIAA
hates
Napster
because we are able to
sample
music
before we
buy
it!
Before
mp3s
were
easily
obtained, many people would hear a few songs that they liked on the radio by a certain
artist
, and then
pick up
the album. This was great for the
record companies
because they only needed to put, at most, 3 good songs on any given
album
. People would
blindly
pay
for more than 10 tracks that
sucked
. The RIAA is pissed off because they are no longer able to dupe us into buying
crap
