• Fear and Distress.
• Pain, Injury and Disease.
• Hunger and Thirst.
• Discomfort.
• and Freedom to express Normal Behavior.

Which is why, if I ever got reincarnated, I would definitely want to come back as a free-range hen. Not that I resent the birds these freedoms, I brought the eggs after all, but I'd love these sorts of guarantees...
