| Okay, just to clarify: by "recently", I mean within the last 2000 years, and by "Polytheism", I mean essentially, Western Polytheism. Sure, Hinduism and other eastern religions are Polytheist, but in the West, any religion with more than one god is laughed out of town.
Think back to the primordial Mediterranean cultures: the Celts, Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Persians and so on ALL had loads of Gods. But where've they all gone, I ask? The two largest religions in the world, Christianity and Islam are religiously monotheist.
Don't stand for it! Just think... out there, lying dormant, there might be thousands of deities. They crave power, and will reward those who can give it. In our age of religious uncertainty, there is endless opportunity to stir up mindless belief.
