Wellesley College is a small residential, liberal arts college southwest of Boston. There are more than 51 majors, ranging from Political Science to Africana Studies, and over 400 classes, including The Ritual Process: Magic, Witchcraft, and Religion (Anthropology) and Functions of a Complex Variable (Math). The college has no graduate students so there are no graduate assistants and undergrads have lots of research opportunities.
It is a very tradition-oriented college. Some of its traditions are the big sister/little sister program, hoop-rolling, Lake Day, and Flower Sunday. The college boasts alums such as Hillary Clinton, Katherine Bates, and Madeline Albright.
Wellesley women have the reputation being easy and desperate. (The "fuck truck" reputation.) While this many be true for some, the majority of women who attend Wellesley make fun of the men who have that perception. The women who attend Wellesley are strong-minded and independent. |
