At any rate, she tucks the key back into her shirt.
and hides it...
as if she were ashamed she still had it.
"Hey," I say. "You've got to hide your love away,"
hoping to brighten her smile.
Instead, I watch it fade.
She nods thoughtfully
and gathers her things,
as if I've just reminded her of where she'd rather be.
