Hewlett Packard's Visual User Environment, a desktop environment based on OSF Motif which was bundled with version 9.x and earlier of their HP-UX operating system. It is descended from the Motif window manager mwm, and indeed its own vuewm is basically mwm modified to add a panel. CDE incorporated many of the concepts, and in fact much code, from VUE, and indeed the version of CDE shipped with HP-UX in later versions interoperated with applications written for VUE. |
