"I love horror films! I want to do more of them! I loved the first Nosferatu. That really set the tone for
all other vampire films. The Klaus Kinski version did not work so well. I also like the Hammer movies very much."
Udo Kier was born October 14th 1944, in Köln, Germany. He moved to Britain at 18, to learn English.
Udo Kier's first hit was Mark of the Devil in 1970, an extremely gore movie. They offered vomit bags at the entrance. This movie was banned in 31 countries and was last seen at FantAsia film festival, in Montreal, in 1998. This movie projected him in the film world and he never stopped.
"My greatest joy is that I had the courage to leave my country when I was very young and not be stuck in one city and work there and get married there. I left home when I was 18 and lived in London, Paris, Rome. That was my first good decision and the beginning of many other good things in my life."
from Andy Warhol's INTERVIEW Magazine, 1974
Here is his complete filmography. It's quite long, so I removed the TV shows appearances. I put in bold the well-known titles. Look at them, he played in many unknown german movies, but he also played in many Hollywood flicks.
