TuteBot was the first of two example robots detailed in Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation. Unlike the more complex Rug Warrior series, TuteBot did not contain a microcontroller, but relied on an agglomeration of switches, relays, motors and discrete electrical components for its control system. Since it was intended as a tutorial robot for beginners, TuteBot was designed to be easy to assemble. It was constructed entirely out of standard LEGO building blocks from the Technics series, with a battery pack and breadboard containing the controlling components mounted on top.
