| (DC Comics) Name semi-jokingly applied to the unofficial comittee formed by The Phantom Stranger, John Constantine, Dr. Occult and Mr. E., who occasionally meet to combat global crises.
Their most famous appearance so far has been in the original pilot mini-series of The Books of Magic, where they act as Tim Hunter's guides to past, present, other realms and future, respectively.
The name comes from a wisecrack Constantine makes at the start of Books: "Just what the world's been waiting for. The Charge of the Trenchcoat Brigade", referring to the four's preferred mode of dress. |
