What would you think
if I sent you a gift
and on it,
if I had wrote,
"I came upon this horrible thing
and all I could think of was you."
I'd like to think
that you'd think it absurd
and pause at the thought
—not that the horrible gift
was really quite right—
but that I'd been the one
to think of it first.
