An import store commonly found in malls. It sells vaguely foreign items over an extremely broad spectrum of kitschiness and build quality. I have an elegant solid-wood mantel clock sitting on my desk that I received as a gift. Items found there include:

  • Crumbly plaster flowerpots
  • Flimsy wooden pictureframes
  • Ugly red-hued carpets
  • Tall dark wardrobes
  • Impressive refrigerated winecellars
  • Veined, frilly drapery
  • Dark revolving mantelclocks

Only shop at the Bombay Company if you are confident in your good taste and ability to judge value; slapdash (a word which here means shoddy) and tacky goods are given equal billing with durable and understated merchandise.
