of various organisations (Primarily
CND
and the
Muslim Association Of Britain
) formed on
September 21, 2001
to try to bring a halt to the US-led war on terror and to settle
racist
tension brought against
Muslims
by this war.
They are well known for their posters, including their most famous "
NOT IN MY NAME
" flyer-simply the
phrase
"not in my name" in a large bold font. They pulled a coup just before the
War In Iraq
began, by amassing millions of people in a huge demonstration against the war, although ultimately this protest had little effect on the
British government
's plans.
