Steel Panthers: World at War is a WWII strategy game. It is based on SSI's game Steel Panthers, designed by Gary Grigsby and Keith Brors. This version was produced by Matrix Games.
The game is a vastly improved version of the original SP. Some improvements:
- It runs as a native Windows application (original was for DOS)
- Graphics and sounds are cooler.
- Also features Internet play - original supported only PBEM and do hotseat play, if I remember correctly
- Tons of more different units
- A LOT of scenarios. (I was happy to find Winter War scenarios too...)
The full game is available as a huge download from <URL:http://www.matrixgames.com/>, and it can ocassionally be spotted on cover CDs (which is a Good Thing - version 5.0 is almost 400 megabytes...) |
