A dimensionless number used in heat transfer in general and forced convection calculations in particular. It is equivalent to Nu/(Re Pr). The Stanton number is proportional to (Heat transfered/Thermal capacity of fluid).

St = h / (CP rho V)

St = h / (CP G)

CP: heat capacity, G: mass velocity, h: heat transfer coefficient, rho: density, V: velocity
