In the DCU Roy Harper,when he was a teenager and the ward of Oliver Queen Green Arrow, was known as Speedy. The orphaned son of a forest ranger, he was raised from the age of 3-13 by a Navajo tribe. At that age, due to growing "cultural problems" (seems the other Navajo weren't keen on a white kid planning to marry one of their women...), Brave Bow, his Navajo adopted father sent him to live with Green Arrow. Using his uncanny accuracy, he became 'Speedy', Green Arrow's teen sidekick. This worked well for a while, as Green Arrow was Harper's idol. Queen gave Harper the name Speedy, "cause you're fast like me kid". After meeting other JLA sidekicks, Harper went on to be one of the founding members of the Teen Titans. He later battled and overcame a heroin addiction, fathered a daughter (Lian) with the international terrorist Chesire, worked for various quasi-governmental agencies and mastered the martial art og Moo-Gi-Gon, which allows him to use almost any handheld object as a deadly weapon. He changed his name to Arsenal, the master of all weapons.
