From Achtung Baby, the album where U2 refined their sound and began to show their cynicism, age, and wit, comes a track that expresses the universal themes of "boys are stupid" and "girls are evil."
Bono sings of a couple disputing over their troubled relationship, each trying to peg the source of the problems on the shortcomings of the other. We see a moment in the lives of two people who used to be gleefully in love who are now facing the harsh realization that it may have just been young lust hazing their vision and the idyllic world they envisioned early in their relationship may not be how they were intended to live. The man in the song obviously cannot escape from the feelings he has for the woman, despite her concious or unconcious attempts at getting rid of him.
Perhaps the song itself was a metaphor for the troubles the members of U2 were facing as they attempted to record an album, growing more and more angry at each other.
