The Kevin Bacon game has surfaced in mass media at least six times.
The "Outbreak" episode of Mad About You was my first exposure to this silly game. In this episode, Jamie is pregnant but doesn't want to tell anyone, however Paul jumps the gun and tells their neighbor about their expected child while riding an elevator. Later on, Paul explains the mechanics of the Kevin Bacon Game to several other characters, including Ira, his brother. Word of Jamie's pregnancy slowly begins leaking out, and a party is held at the Buchmans' apartments. Their neighbor stops by, with her boyfriend, Kevin Bacon.
There is also a Visa Check Card commercial featuring Mr. Bacon on the airwaves, at least in the US. As is typical in Visa Check Card commercials, a well-known individual goes to pay for something with a check, but the clerk will not accept the check without identification. In this "episode", Kevin tells the clerk, "I'll be right back," and then goes to find six random people. Kevin explains to the clerk how they connect and ends with, "We're practically brothers!"
kbmb1 tells me of a Kevin Bacon marathon on TBS. During commercial breaks, the station interviewed other actors in his films and all the links between them.
kthejoker explains that the first large exposure of the game was on the Howard Stern show when the game's creators stopped by.
Myrkabah says that there's also an episode of SNL where they're spoofing the presidential debates, and one of them starts the Kevin Bacon Game with some important muslim. It was *really* funny.
Walter says There's an episode of Buffy (I believe it's "Lies My Parents Told Me" (7.17)) where Andrew asks Dawn if she wants to play Kevin Bacon. She doesn't seem to know what he's talking about.
